Rogue Wave

This morning, RadioK debuted a new song called 10:1 by the San Francisco band Rogue Wave. I wasn't familiar with them, but some quick research on AllMusic.com convinced me that I've been missing out. They get compared to Elephant 6 bands (e.g., Olivia Tremor Control, Neutral Milk Hotel, Apples in Stereo), Built to Spill, The Shins, and even Simon and Garfunkel and Elliot Smith. However, they also remind me a bit of The Legends, a Swedish band that Steve brought to our attention several months ago. They have that same classic pop sound with fuzzed-out vocals, at least on the songs I mention below, which are all up-tempo. You can get 2 free MP3s from their previous album, Out of the Shadow, from SubPop's website. Both of the songs - Every Moment and Endless Shovel - are good. The song I heard, 10:1, which is from an upcoming album is also available. You can get more info from their impressively designed official website. They don't have any more free downloads, but the site features a built-in media player that will allow you listen to full versions of more of their songs.
