Elastica

Remember these guys? Great band. Brit-punk-pop at it's best. I just started relistening to it again. I had forgotten how good a band they are.

Check it out: Elastica (self titled) released 1995

Songs: Annie, Connection, Line-up, Stutter - all great tunes. This is an album you can listen to almost all the way through.

Hey, I'm glad to hear that someone else still listens to this album. It's remains one of my favorites, although it doesn't seem to get referenced much anymore. Is their eventual 2nd album any good? I listened to a few clips when it came out back in 2000 but nothing really grabbed me like from the debut. If nothing else, Elastica inspired me to check out early Wire, since critics complained that their sound was very deriviative of that band. Connection is a blantant rip-off of Wire's Three Girl Rhumba, but what do I care? It still rocks!

Stutter is one of my all time favorite songs. That album completely rocks and I have not listened to it in a long time...must check the shelves and give it another listen...
